Episode 10

Well I think this is the last episode of the season - or at least last episode with pitches.

It was one of the better episodes in that it had a lot of pitches from people that actually were making some money. Unfortunately this led to some lofty valuations.

Episode 9

Of course the last thing shown got the deal in the end. First the noteworthy things along the way. Arlene offered a partial deal to the cereal bar people but when no one else anted up she backed down.

I was surprised that Dickinson didn't get in on the Home Organizing box deal. It seems like something that's all about marketing and she only wanted a tiny amount of money. In the end Jim, Robert and Laurence went for what seemed a reasonably solid pitch. It wasn't really clear to me though why she needed the money again. As the dragon's pointed out, she had orders in hand. If she begged and borrowed to get the money to fill those orders I think she would have been a lot better off then giving up her company to the dragons.

The discussion with the spring water pitch was mildly interesting with some fireworks between the dragons. Robert described how he didn't have the easy road that O'Leary apparently did. However, he still felt it was possible to overcome starting from nothing. Good news for most budding entrepreneurs

The baby carrier was a colossally bad idea. Are people who are irresponsible enough to almost drown their kids seriously going to plan ahead and buy something that lessons the chance of that happening.

Here's the summary!

Episode 8

Again an episode with one deal.

First the dragons seemed firmly against the airline seat covers. Sure the valuation was a little high but they dismissed the idea outright. "Carry comfort's" one idea of something to cover the airline seats was impractical but the utility poncho was a decent idea. I think the Dragon's have forgotten that regular people travel coach. I wouldn't buy one of these things but when I see people bringing pillows and blankets onto planes I definitely think there is a market for them

The pop-up pylon company that did get funded in the end seemed like it was a decent idea. I don't see it being used for road construction but it might be practical for emergency kits in cars and for service trucks.

Episode 7 or "What is wrong with people"

The summary from last week is below. The underwear people came close to a deal but in the end only Dickinson wanted in.

I found the last deal, Printakid, upsetting. The entrepreneur gave way too much up. She had a reasonable business that sounded like it was growing on its own but, for some reason, she decides to give it all away. She gave away 51% but she might as well have given away the whole thing. Her company is no longer her own and the day the deal closes she could be out on her own.

Episode 4

Maybe I didn't get this right, but this seems like the first episode I've seen where there wasn't a deal.

The fancy water transportation devices (aka bottles) came the closest but it didn't quite pull it off

Episode 3

Well this is the first episode I saw this year. It seems to be as interesting as last year. Hopefully it keeps up.

One new thing though was that they now have these really short segments where they just give some snippets of the pitch. They don't give the full details of what the people wanted so that's why some of the details are missing

Here's the summary from last night
